A Moment on Worn Stone XXIX

Description

This is a monument to what lingers—a moment suspended in time, poised between decay and renewal. The figure stands on the pedestal, an echo of all who have stood before, their form blurred as though shifting between past and present. The lake remains still, an ever-watchful mirror of change.

With its textured surfaces and muted contrasts, the image becomes a meditation on impermanence. As Proust wrote, it suggests, “Remembrance of things past is not necessarily the remembrance of things as they were.” Memory transforms, reshapes, and reinvents—just as this moment does, over and over again, in the viewer’s eye.
